MY OPINION
“Your Knife, My Heart” left us with a huge cliffhanger.
And “My Blade, Your Back” picks up right where it left off.
Both books are written at the same high level and have the same gripping style. They grab the reader by the throat like Darth Vader and don't let go until the very last page.
Both are brutal.
Both are absolutely feral.
When Emery finally came back, she didn't even recognize the man she had once loved. It was heartbreaking—not only for Cameron, but for me as well.
All I wanted was for them to finally get the happy ending they deserved.
But their lives have never been a paradise.
Watching Cameron struggle with everything that happened was painful. He knows he can't let Emery go, but her amnesia is like a snake's bite—venomous, relentless, and devastating.
Now they have to work together on another mission, but their old wounds are still wide open. They both have to find their way back to themselves, and that's far from easy.
Because the worst demons are always the ones we carry inside.
After all the pain and bloodshed, “My Blade, Your Back” finally gives us a HEA.
And what a beautiful one.
Soft.
Sweet.
And incredibly well deserved.
I absolutely loved the way K.M. Moronova ended this duet.
At the same time, I hated everything Emery and Cameron had to go through before they could finally reach that ending.
It's honestly incredible how a book can make you have such a love-hate relationship with its author.
I'm really happy that military romance is becoming popular again because I've genuinely missed this trope. I've read plenty of books involving the military, but most of the time only the hero serves.
Here, I found everything I was looking for.
And now...
I can't wait for more.
