"Darling Wildfire" by Devyn Rivers

BLURB

This story is about Theron North.
Or as you know him: Kraven

Who am I if not a hunter?

I don’t want to think about what I’ll do after this. I’ve spent the last decade wreaking havoc around the world in preparation—destroying, building and killing—a lot of killing. For most people that would be the part that would get to them, but not me. At what point do you start considering yourself the reaper? At what point do you give in to the god complex of holding a life in your hands? Sometimes literally—I’ve held a bleeding heart, still beating, after I’ve torn it from my enemies chest.

At what point do you consider yourself evil?

Those are the questions your humanity is supposed to answer, but unfortunately that was stripped from me long ago.

What happens to a man when that’s gone? I’m afraid I’ll know the answer when all of this is over. That’s what they don’t tell you—no matter how deep into the shadows you go, the fear of losing yourself follows.

Even the dead and the dying fear the darkness.

Who am I if not a hunter?

Maybe I’ll live long enough to find out.

But first…

One last hunt.

One last dangerous game.

MY OPINION

So... how is it even possible that the second book is better than the first one?
Because “Darling Wildfire” is everything I was hoping to find when I started reading it.

As I wrote in my review of “Red Rabbit”, one of the characters completely caught my attention, and I was desperate to find out why he was the way he was.
Now I know.
Devyn Rivers... you're one smart fox.

Theron North, aka Kraven.
A man with dark secrets and an even darker heart.
A man obsessed with Kaelin.
A hunter.
Or... is he?
What an incredible story.

I absolutely devoured this book, and I mean that honestly. This time, Kaelin and Graham take a step back, while Kraven becomes the main focus.
We finally get his story.
And honestly? Nothing about his behavior in the first book shocks me anymore, because this man carries an incredibly dark past.

The best part?
We also get Atlas and Nyx, who are part of Theron's military team.

So yes—if you're looking for military romance, secret operations, and ridiculously handsome soldiers... you've definitely come to the right place.

Actually, even better than that.

Devyn Rivers gives us much more. MM and MFM relationships, with spicy scenes that are hot, steamy, and perfectly placed within the story. They're intense, but they never overshadow the plot.
And that's what I really appreciated.

Because in Theron's story, there are so many things that capture your attention far more than the spice.
Every revelation is shocking.
The ending included.
Seriously...
Where is book three?

“Darling Wildfire” is an absolutely insane and captivating read. When I started “Red Rabbit”, I had no expectations.
I wanted a dark romance...

But I got so much more.
Emotional trauma.
Pain.
Action.
Cruelty.
Spice.
Blood.
And a story that completely consumed me.
Perfect read.
