MY OPINION
“Red Rabbit” had been sitting on my TBR for quite some time. Normally, it would have stayed there even longer, but I’m still trying to shrink my TBR, so “Red Rabbit” was next in line.
This story is both good and bad at the same time.
While I was reading it, I wanted to throw up… and I was enjoying it at the same time.
That’s crazy, I know.
But it’s also the truth.
First of all, I didn’t read the blurb.
Second of all, I skipped the trigger warnings because I’ve been reading dark romance for too long to think anything could really shock me.
Well…
Devyn Rivers pushed me to my limits more than once.
And you know what?
I wanted more.
How sick am I?
Please… don’t answer that.
Kaelin Bennett is one of the strongest heroines I’ve ever met in a dark romance. What she survives is absolutely insane. Even though both her body and mind are broken, she never stops fighting. Deep down, she still believes that better days will come.
Out of all the male characters in this book, Graham was my favorite. I really liked him. At least he was much more grounded than the others. They’re all sick AF… but he was just a little less unhinged than the rest.
“Red Rabbit” is a book for readers with strong nerves. If you're already struggling with "lighter" dark romances, don't even touch this one. It won't be an enjoyable reading experience for you. You'll probably end up feeling disgusted, angry, and emotionally exhausted.
I'm just warning you because, although the trigger warnings tell you what's inside, they still don't prepare you for what this story actually delivers.
On the other hand, if you're an old-school dark romance reader who's already been through plenty of disturbing books, then “Red Rabbit” might become one of those stories you simply can't put down.
Right now, I'm moving on to book two. I really hope one particular character's point of view will finally explain his behavior, because I genuinely want to understand him.
“Red Rabbit” is an incredibly intense, brutal, and spicy story. Inside you'll find an extremely dark romance, special military operations, and human trafficking. The plot moves at a steady pace and keeps you hooked from beginning to end.

I definitely need my own paperback copy.
