MY OPINION
„Come Out, Come Out” is the first book in the Haunted Hearts duology. And honestly… it’s a story I still don’t know what to think about.
It wasn’t a bad book. Noooo. It was actually a really good story. Original, like the smell of something new.
But also very painful, sad, and heavy at the same time.
First of all, „Come Out, Come Out” is a paranormal romance between a human and a ghost. At the beginning, we meet Aiden, who is a human… but because of certain circumstances, he becomes a ghost. Then he meets Skye — a girl who wants to die.
Aiden promises himself that he will do everything he can to keep her alive.
That is his mission as a ghost.
But even a ghost needs a little fun in his deadly life.
„Come Out, Come Out” is a book that breaks the rules! Finally! Skye isn’t a supermodel heroine. She’s plus-size, lonely, and struggling with a lot of problems. She has a very deep depression and she’s just… existing in the world. I’ll stop myself here — the rest, you need to discover yourself.
This is a paranormal romance, so of course there are spicy moments. Yes, between Skye and Aiden. Yes, he’s still a ghost. Don’t ask questions — just take it as it is. These scenes are so hot! Aiden is the ideal book boyfriend, and he knows exactly what girls like.
Alexia Onyx did an amazing job with the chemistry between the characters, because nothing is obvious here. This relationship isn’t easy, and you can feel all the silent problems and barriers between Skye and Aiden.
One of the most important things about this book? TRIGGER WARNINGS. I’m not joking! Seriously, read them before you decide to pick up this book. In „Come Out, Come Out”, Alexia Onyx tackles many very difficult and heavy topics.
„Come Out, Come Out” is a tough story. I’m still thinking about the ending. Was it HEA or not? That depends on how you perceive it. In the end, it was a unique read, and I’m really glad I added this book to my “books you might be interested in” list.
