BLURB
She turned around, startled. We looked at each other, both paralyzed in the moment. Like two does caught in the headlights of each other’s gaze. A sudden connection under a shattered star.
At seventeen, Liam shouldn't have to carry such despair. Yet, since losing his sister, he's trapped in a darkness he can't escape—an abyss rooted in grief. But when a girl from his school dies at the same haunted spot—and a supernova blasts across the sky over their small coastal town—Liam begins to suspect something far more sinister lurking behind their deaths.
A gripping coming-of-age tale about loss and self-discovery. Blending hard science, soft humor, a touch of mystery, and a spark of the extraordinary, 'And Then I Killed A Star' explores the cosmic and the personal—where a chance meeting under the gaze of a dying star might just be the key to unlocking the truth.
MY OPINION
„And then I killed a star” is a first book written in English by Mick Kaye.
This is also my first book in English from this author, but all previous four I had a pleasure to read before release date. Funny thing... with that one was the same story.
But...
I wasn't prepared for the ending of Liam's story.
Liam is a teenager. He is a pretty nice guy. A little bit introvert, in love in computer gaming. He lost his sister in car accident and after this he is living in the darkness.
Things changed when he is involed to another death. One girl from school died in the same place, as his sister, but that death is strange. Why? Because of supernova blasts across the sky.
Liam starts to thinking that his sister death isn't normal. And this is the beginning of the story in which Liam will meet a girls, whos have their secrets hidden deeply in their hearts.
„And then I killed a star” is a young adult story, but our teenagers heroes are pretty smart. We have here a lot of popculture, geeks things and also a lot of cosmos and galaxy stuff. I was totally IN that book from the first page, because I am a cosmos freak. What can I say.
Mick Kaye in a nice and cozy story wrote a tragedy plot. Yep, I know this is hard to belive but it is real. So... remember what I wrote at the beginning of this opinion? I wasn't prepared for the ending.
You won't be also. This is unbeliveable what we have here. Totally outstanding. In popular words today „Absolute Cinema”, but this is a book, so „Absolute Book”.
It isn't a shock that I am in love in Saturn and Liam story. It isn't the first time when Mick Kaye knew how to write a book that I will read in a moment and love with my whole heart. I still remember his previous four books and I am trying to forget the plot in them, because I want to read them again. Like a newbie.
You have my word that You won't be disappointed with this story. If you like smart heroes, cosmos and unusual plot „And then I killed a star” is a book for you.
