MY OPINION
„Not my Hero” is a book written by Michelle Heard in „Black Mountain Academy” series.
The blurb of this story is talking about nothing special, another young adult romance book.
I've thought about that too, but when I had read this story... I changed my mind.
To say that Brie's life is a hell is like say nothing. This girls has new bomb every day, which explode in every evening. She was unwanted child and her mother tells her this every day, by mouth and hands.
Also Brie is a victim in school, but she is too powerless to defend herself.
One day she met Colton – the bad boy, which has all girls eyes in the school.
Bad boy which doesn't look on them. He looks only on Brie.
He wants her and he wants to be her hero.
I love, hate and everything what is inside these two words feel to this book.
I was sad about Brie and her life.
I was happy that she finally found somebody, who wants to safe her.
I felt angry about her school life.
I felt joy, because good moments finally arrived.
Brie and Colton's story is more than a book. I was in „Not my Hero” from the first chapter and Michelle Heard drew me to her story until I finished it. Maybe this book is though and hard, maybe Brie is a poor girl, but what won't kill us, make us stronger.
And „Not my Hero” is a real example of this.
