BLURB
Sometimes you meet people who are out of this world, so you make them a part of yours.
A one-night stand born from vengeance in a foreign land.
An explosive chemistry neither of us could deny.
We signed a contract on the back of a Boar’s Head Pub napkin that said if we ever met again, we would drop everything and be together.
Eight years and thousands of miles later, he’s here.
In New York.
And he’s America’s music obsession.
The intangible Irish poet who brings record executives to their knees.
The blizzard in my perfect, unshaken snow globe.
Last time we spoke, he was a beggar with no intention of becoming a king.
But a king he became, and now I’m his servant.
I’m not the same broken princess Malachy Doherty put back together with his callused hands.
I have a career I love.
A boyfriend I adore.
An apartment, a roommate, a life.
I changed. He changed, too.
But Mal kept the napkin.
Question is, will I keep my word?
MY OPINION
ITUE was my most anticipated title in this year.
Ok, wait... 'Broken Knight' too.
Nevermind, I must write that every book written by LJ Shen is my most anticipated book in every year.
Of course not only mine.
When I saw the cover, I knew that this will be something different from this author. This book will wake up my deepest dreams about books.
And when I started reading this story... I was gone.
I ate and drunk because my fiance gave me food and of course I was reading. Only reading.
The story of Mal and Rory is everything I love in delicate romance books. They met in the past and we can see them as young, toughtless people with ambitions and then we can see them in the future, when years make the difference in their perception of the world. They are adult, they are serious.
Malachy is a bad boy with pretty face. You will love him in the first sight. He is the boy that you need in your live, but it will never happen. I know, I am sad too.
Rory is my new bookish best friend. This girl is representing everything like really BF must be. I like her and I was cheering her in this story.
ITUE is a new LJ Shen. She didn't lie, when she said that this book will be something different than her previous books. This story is beautiful and we can see a progess in her pen. Also we have a really funny moments in this story and now, when I ended it, I am really glad that this book had a release in this year, before 'Angry God' and after 'Broken Knight'.
It was a true bookish smile in everything what I read in this year.
LJ Shen showed that she knows how to write a different loves book. We have a tough love, funny love and difficult love with simple resolution. 'In the Unlikely Event' is a book which will be in my and your heart a really long time after the end. This story gives me a small hope that our dreams will come true in the likely event.
